Add POS Redeem Codes

For businesses with a POS integration, benefits (gifts, punch cards, and prepaid cards) can be redeemed using redeem codes. The employee must enter this redeem code in the POS at the time of purchase. They can be created in advance as predefined codes, or generated on the spot by the member as autogenerated codes. They can be displayed as numeric codes, barcodes, or QR codes.

Note: Since some businesses use both a POS integration and Admin Mode (each for different branches), redeem codes can also be entered into the Admin Panel by adding a layout block with the action Enter Asset Redeem Code.

Add Predefined Codes (Bulk)

Redeem codes can be created in advance in a bulk. Each time a member wants to redeem a benefit, they tap Redeem in their app and the next unused code from this bulk is displayed. The employee then enters it into the POS.

Note: Using predefined codes instead of autogenerated codes (that are generated on the spot) allows you to use custom codes and to limit the number of gifts that can be redeemed. For example, you can create a promotion that only the first 200 members can redeem a free coffee and create a bulk of only 200 codes.


To use predefined codes:

  1. When you create the benefit (gift, punch card, or prepaid card) from the Benefits tab, scroll down to the Gift POS Settings.



  2. For the Redeem Code Type, select Predefined Codes (Bulk).



  3. Enter the Reward SKU.

    Note: This number is used to connect this specific benefit with the template of POS redeem codes you create. You can choose any number as long as you use the same number as the reward SKU when you create the redeem codes.



  4. From the Benefits tab, click Codes and then POS Redeem Codes.



  5. Click Add POS Redeem Codes.



  6. Enter a name of the template of codes and the reward SKU you entered in step 3. Click Save and then the X on the top-right.




  7. Click the template of the redeem codes and create a bulk of codes.


Add Autogenerated Codes

Members can generate a redeem code from their app at the time of purchase by tapping Redeem and then provide this code to the employee to enter into the POS.

 

To use autogenerated codes:

  1. When you create the benefit (gift, punch card, or prepaid card) from the Benefits tab, scroll down to the Gift POS Settings.



  2. For the Redeem Code Type, select Autogenerated Codes.



  3. For Redeem Code Expires After, enter how long after the redeem code is generated that it can no longer be used. The default unit of time is seconds but you can change it.

    Note: When a member generates a redeem code from their app and the code isn’t yet expired, the same code will be displayed if the member tries to generate the code again. This prevents the member from being able to redeem the same asset more than once in a specific case.




Show Redeem Codes

From Operation > Settings > App Settings, you can select whether to display redeem codes as numeric codes, QR codes, or barcodes.
